In 1993 Valerio was working with his partner (Gay Lawrence) on the feature film ”The Pagemaster” and studio head David Kirschner was giving a tour to Michael Jackson. We were involved in a project that David and Michael created and werer developing. The day Michael was visiting the studio is when Valerio had the opportunity to meet and shake hands with the king of pop.

The first drawing Valerio did is the one here, where you can see just the hair and the sunglasses. Fueled by his excitement the day after the meeting Valerio produced this forst image. The second drawing Valerio did after the scandal broke out months later and you can view that in the PRINTS section in the STORE.

TELEART "CODE 4" A NEW PRINT ON CANVAS BY VALERIO VENTURA NOW AVAILABLE ANY SIZE ONLY ON COMMISSION.

This large print entitled “Code 4” is based on a car chase happened back in January 2009. This is one of the few PRINTS Valerio will make available only on commission.

Valerio began taking pictures from the television set a few years ago. Taking pictures straight from television can be like capturing a live shot as long as it is captured mechanically and not by recording the image directly into a digital device by way of cables or wi-fi usb devices.

In this particular experiment, Valerio always uses a slightly wrong setting on the camera so the image is affected in an organic way that couldn’t be reproduced the same way twice. The artist then takes the image and works on it by hand or digitally using a pen or brush.

OBAMA TELEART.

Tuesday november fourth, two thousand eight.

This technique Valerio used to create a series of prints of digital paintings the artist did of president Barack Obama. The first image you’ll find on the blog is the image of the american flag waiving in grant park in chicago. The artists added the words from a portion of the speech that the president delivered that historic night.

Another prints is available with the image of president Obama delivering the speech and the speech in it's entirety is overlaid on the top of the whole image.

Another print, shows the same scene looking from behind the stage towards the crowd in grant park, and president Barack Obama raising his hand waiving to the people with his shadow cast in the spotlight that illuminated the stage.

Valerio did these watching tv the night that Obama was declared the winner.
